The first requirement is to go to your control panel and go to System & Security. Open the Windows Firewall which you can find on the left-hand menu. Click on Advanced Settings. You will see the Advanced Security Panel in the left-side menu.

You have two rules here. One is the Inbound rule that controls traffic that comes to the server from outside. The second is the Outbound rule that allows or denies traffic to the network from the server. It is important to create rules for both. Apply the same twice for both rules (Inbound and Outbound).

Right click on “Inbound Rules” and select “New Rules”. Select the specific Port Number that you use and choose UGP or TCP (TCP is the more popular choice). Then select if you wish to apply for Local networks or Public network. Select if this rule is for allowing or blocking. Follow the same procedure for Outbound Rules. That completes the process of how to open a port on VPS You can always contact DialWebHosting support team for any assistance.
