In shared hosting, your website will be placed along with numerous other websites and you will be given limited resources. In SSD cloud hosting your website is hosted on a pool of combined computing resources where you can draw as much as you require.

Cloud hosting is scalable on demand. You can start on a low plan and increase your resources at any time and get more resources to manage a sudden traffic rush. Similarly, you can reduce your requirements once the rush subsides. This is not possible in shared hosting. Once you overshoot your allo0cated resources, you get a warning and should upgrade to a higher plan or there are chances of your website crashing.

In cloud hosting, you will never experience downtime but this cannot be guaranteed in shared hosting. In shared hosting, you pay a fixed monthly bill while in cloud hosting you are billed on the pay-as-you-use model.

Shared hosting is not suitable if your website has high traffic of visitors. It is ideal for startups that require limited resources. Cloud is fit for all types of businesses.
